PLANS? We don't need no stinking plans!

The cover image for this post is a VERY rusty bottom step that leads into our bus. We found this mess after taking the rubber off that covers this step. We started with the top step and worked our way down and to our surprise found this really bad rust.
This is the only real rust we have found on the bus. There is some light rust under the bus but nothing that is structurally defective. We didn't really have time to to dive into this issue too deeply today but we will have to do something.
Finding rust today was NOT the plan. We started bus work a little late this weekend because of some work obligations so we decided to just "putter". We did a few windows, we dabbled in some fiberglass application and we took up the remains of the flooring (which happened to be the stuff in the stairwell). However, this weekend was a good reminder of something. You can make a plan but it probably won't survive the first tick mark.
Julie commented today that, "It seems like you try and do something and then you have to do something else before you can do the thing you want to do". Yep, that pretty much 'splains a skoolie. I guess the moral of the story is don't get too bogged down in the plans. Things are going to happen, sometimes good things, sometimes bad things and so long as you have more of the former than the latter...that is a good day.
